Tucson Urban League 39th Annual Gala Success
TUCSON: On Saturday, March 6, 2010, the Tucson Urban League held its 39th Annual Gala at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador. The League honored three exceptional local businesses for their service and contribution to the community. JP Industries received the Equal Opportunity award, Habitat for Humanity Tucson received the Whitney Young award and Tucson Electric Power received the Henry Quinto award. Richard Davis served as the Master of Ceremonies. National award-winning journalist Roland Martin was the evening's featured Keynote Speaker. Over 450 guests attended the event, including many noted local business leaders, elected officials and prominent community members. The new President and CEO, Jonathan Peck thanked the guests for embracing him into the Tucson community and for their support of the Gala.

The Tucson Urban League offers Job Placement and Education assistance to youth and adults in the greater Tucson community. The agency is a comprehensive resource and employment center that focuses on preparing clients for placement in the competitive job market.
